"My Grandas recent hospital admission"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Emergency Medicine

(as a relative),

In the early morning my Granda had taken unwell and was admitted to resus within A& E, then a further two nights within ward 107 ARI. The treatment provided by the paramedics, nurses, doctors and consultants, Health care support workers and domestics was absolutely outstanding. He was treated with so much dignity and compassion at all times. The staff made sure our family was kept up to date with any changes to his condition to which we were all very grateful for. Against all odds, his condition improved and he was allowed home for Christmas. This would not have been possible without the amazing care and treatment he received from all staff. Special thanks must go to Staff Nurse Charlotte from A& E and staff nurse Jade from ward 107- in my Granda's words- 'just young lassies but full of knowledge'- THANK YOU! Also huge thanks to Dr Miller, your bedside manner is exceptional- THANK YOU! Granda's experience was very positive and reassuring to him that should he require the assistance of the hospital and paramedics again he is in safe hands. Thank you all!

Dear Grandasgirl,

Many thanks for taking the time to post your positive comments regarding the care that your Granda received whilst in A&E and Ward 107.

I am delighted that the care he received had such an impact on him and that he was able to return home for Christmas with his family.

The teams will be delighted with your comments and that of your Granda's and I will share these with the teams and in particular with Charlotte, Jade and Dr Miller.

Many thanks and best wishes to you and your Granda.

Kind regards

Fiona Robertson Chief Nurse
