"Abysmal geriatric care at royal free"

About: Royal Free Hospital / Older people's healthcare

A patient from aug-nov 2017 in geriatric care.

The care was appalling and we have numerous complaints relating to nurses not given prescribed and essential medication, not being treated with respect or dignity by ancillary staff, pooor care planning and no communication between areas/departments, low expectations by doctors and consultants which results in compromised care planning to the detriment of patients, diabolical management of the ward and nursing staff, extremely poor discharge notes, considered useless by community care teams, no discharge care plan (stated obligatory on the nhs website) despite complete lack of mobility and additional medical issues. Avoid this department in this hospital.

Hello

Thank you for taking time to leave a review on NHS Choices; I was saddened to read the experience you describe and would like to apologise to you and your family.

There is a lot of information that I cannot comment on or deal with due to the nature of NHS Choices feedback; is it possible to contact me at richardchester@nhs.net so I may look into it for you.

With Kind Regards

Richard
