"From the bottom of my broken heart I say thank you."

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department University Hospital Hairmyres / Intensive Care Unit

(as a relative),

My Mum  was taken to A&E with breathing difficulty and later to a ward and Intensive care.

Arriving at A&E was stressful and I would like to thank the man who gave up his seat to situate my Mum and family.   We were seen very quickly on a packed Saturday night and the organization of the reception at A&E was amazing.

During the short time in the ward all staff were very understanding and approachable

A special thank you to the staff in the IDU /HDU department.   During this time  the staff were amazing.  A special thank you to the assigned member of staff "Mark" who was looking after my Mum.  I wouldn't have coped without your kindness.

Sadly she died but the compassion, caring and understanding of them all really is a tribute.  You do an amazing job which has so many challenging circumstances.  The teamwork also shone out so, from the bottom of my broken heart I say "thank you".

Dear gib1978

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your recent experience at such a sad and difficult time. I would like to offer my sincere condolences to you and your family.

I am pleased to hear that you felt all staff and indeed other patients were understanding and approachable. I will indeed pass your special 'thanks' on to Mark who was looking after your mum.

It is heart warming to read your kind words. Thank you again for sharing your comments.

Our thoughts are with you and your family.

Lise
