I gave birth to my daughter on 8th September 2017 at DVH.
Whilst the individual staff were fantastic (and especially the midwives in the delivery suites) the unit did not have sufficient capacity or staff to care for the high number of women and babies needing help during the busy time of September.
A combination of the hospital's insufficient capacity and complications with the labour & delivery meant we were left waiting for a delivery suite to become available for 36 hours (whilst in active labour) and when my daughter got stuck we had a terrifying long wait for staff to become available to go to theatre.
I hate to be the person to submit complaints and leave negative reviews but it was clear that, despite the best efforts of the staff on the wards, there was a management failure to adequately plan and prepare for the high demands on the unit in September which caused many of the problems we experienced.
We had such high hopes for having our daughter at DVH as all the care up until the delivery had been wonderful but her birth was needlessly without doubt one of the most frightening experiences we've ever had.
