"Phoenix Unit = compassion"

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital / Clinical haematology

I have been a patient on the phoenix unit for a really long time and I couldn't praise the staff on this unit enough, but the staff have gone above and beyond their duty. Four weeks ago my partner was diagnosed with stomach cancer and every time I am on the unit, which at the moment is once a week, all the staff ask how Judith was doing. Sadly Judith passed away a few days ago, today I received a lovely bouquet from the staff that see to me. I was overwhelmed that even with their busy days they took time out to do this, I can't thank them enough.

I am so very sorry for your loss and please accept our deepest condolences. It is lovely to hear that the team did this. When you spend a lot of time with patients you do get to know a lot about them and their loved ones. I imagine that they wanted to do something special to maybe brighten your day a little and show you that they care. Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a comment.
