"Lack of Information given about being transferred"

About: Sandwell General Hospital / Accident and emergency

My wife was recently admitted and received excellent care in both the Critical Care Wards and Priory 5 my complaint is we weren't given much advance warning that she was being transferred to Rowley Regis Hospital only found out that was where she was going when the nurse bought the envelope for her discharge giving us no chance of saying no or asking about any other possible options

As we have no transport and live at the very tip of the Borough WS5 means if I want to go and see her Xmas day its a 10.1 mile cycle ride as everyone who might give me a lift has already made plans for the day thanks a bundle

I am very sorry about the lack of notice you received as your wife was transferred to Rowley Regis Hospital. We aim to move patients to the care setting that is most appropriate to their needs at the right time. I will pass on your feedback about the excellent care your wife received in both critical care, and Priory 5. Kind regards, Toby Lewis, Chief Executive.
