About: Dr S M Chen & Partner

My toddler who is one has been suffering with severe constipation the past few months and i must have called this doctors everyday when it started happening to get her booked in. Even when calling first thing on a morning there were no appointment's left even after explaining shes just a baby, receptionist was not helpful and actually rather unpleasant. In the end after about 4 days of trying to get her in i begged on the phone if i could just speak to a doctor on the phone but even after hearing my distress, my daughters distress and how long id been trying to get an appointment still nothing. I ended up going to a chemist to seek advice after ringing 111 and get some medication that way. Absolutely no care given.

I'm also pregnant and have been trying to get a MATB1 form for over a month, each time i call on a Wednesday (as that's the only day the midwife works) i repeatedly get "you cannot get one until 26 weeks" which is the wrong information, the midwife even confirmed to one receptionist it was from 22 weeks. I've written my second formal request in 5 weeks later and yet still to hear back from anyone.

The most appalling service i've ever encountered. Something needs to be put in place for elderly and extremely young patients to see they are cared for with priority.

We have routine appointments which can be booked one week in advanced and emergency same day appointments. Children who are unwell are usually offered a same day emergency appointment. MATB1 form are normally completed by the midwife allocated to the practice. Any requests for MATB1 are forwarded to the midwife. If you have an issue with getting your MATB1 please contact the surgery as we cannot investigate this without knowing your name. You can also contact the midwife directly if this remains a problem. We would encourage patients to complain to us directly if there are any issues as this allows us to carry out a proper investigation and make any necessary changes that would benefit others.
