"This was one of the worst experiences of my life"

About: King's College Hospital (Denmark Hill) / Maternity

The staff were not rude and dismissive.

They were so busy I was regularly leftfor hours with no care, no painkillers, and confusion over other drugs required.

At times they didn’t seem to know who I was (despite being in for a week) and I was left alone all night the first night in the wardwith the baby as I was told they couldn’t help as my midwife was busy.

They were also rude to my same sax partner.

I hd a Breakdown and the midwife on duty came in and told me off- said I was upsetting the other ladies.

I then became too paranoid to leave my cubicle and felt hopeless.

Here were some wonderful midwives but some with a bad attitude and awful care.

I self discharged in the end as I felt I would be safer at home.

I am very sorry to hear about your experience with staff when you had your baby at King's.

I will be passing your comments to our Head of Midwifery so that she can share the issues that you have raise with staff.

I do hope that you and your baby are doing well and sorry once again that your experience was not as good as it should have been.
