"Nurses"

About: The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust

My father was admitted on b wards at rotherham general hospital. He was discharged from hospital and was told to come back the following morning to pick up his medication. On return for medication non of the nurses could find the medication and was told no one has wrote a medical card out and sent it to pharmacy. The nurse at that time wrote his medical note out again and sent it down to pharmacy and he had to wait another day after discharge to pick his medication up I am absolutely disgusted with the service at this hospital. What would they have done if it was someone with a life threatening illness and needed their medication as soon as possible.

Dear Anonymous

I was very concerned to learn about your father's recent experience regarding his discharge medication, please be assured this is not what we would expect any of our patients and families to encounter. I have spoken with the Matron who would welcome the opportunity to discuss your concerns in more detail. Should you wish to do so please contact the Patient Experience Team on 01709 424461 in the first instance.

Best wishes
