"Waiting times A&E and under staffed."

About: Kettering General Hospital / Accident and emergency

Waited 4 hours at Corby urgent caree unit... sent with a letter to Kettering A&E because of heavy internal bleeding. Sat in A&E from 16.20 for 2.5 hours, called into see a nurse and then sent back in to A&E for another 2 hours.

I then seen a Doctor who checked me over and said they were concerned about my blood loss as it was rapid and was told the surgeon would need to speek to me within the next hour when my bloods have been checked out. Another 3.5 hours later at 11.30pm I was called to speak to the surgeon staff. Was dealt with 5 star treatment and bleeding had stopped and was told i needed to be seen In the next 2 weeks and KGH will phone me at home. So 8 hours at KGH A&E and after 4Hrs in Corby Urgent Care.

The staff in both were awesome but we they werr so under staffed and the hospital just coult not cope at all.

The sign said all night 1 to 2 hrs to see a doctor which was complete and utter rubbish.

Thank you for your comments about how caring the staff were in A&E. We always endeavour to see patients in as timely a fashion as possible, however at peak times there can sometimes be a delay which would apologise to you for.

Kind regards

David Anderson

Head of Nursing Urgent Care
