"The doctor is the best, cleverest and most..."

About: Edenfield Road Surgery

I have been under the doctor for 6 years, In that time the doctor has diagnosed two major life changing illnesses that I have managed to catch in time. The doctor dealt with an earlier problem of stress, bullying and panic attacks within my workplace. I really feel without their guidance, advice and medication I was within an inch of stress exhaustion and a nervous breakdown. The doctor later dealt with what I thought was just tiredness, after blood test and monitoring me the doctor suggested 24 hour heart machine to try and diagnose the problem. This led to hospital, test, maybe a pacemaker to eventually medication of Bisopol. This difficult time was made easier by their guidance and professionalism. The doctor then addressed the problem of agonising pain in my arm which I though was due to the heart, turns out it is athritus in the shoulder joint, so the doctor arranged steroids which corrected that. Helped me through agonising 5 weeks appointment at Bolton checking my breast. Then eventually went about upset stomach and a little loose stools. The doctor tried medication and then personally phoned me up to say try an endoscopy, was not too keen as I thought my stomach was due to stress but turns out I have a malignant tumour and cancer of the bowel. No way would I have thought of having this but due to them I have undergone chemo, radio had the tumour taken out and back on chemo. My heart was effected by all this and was not coping so after many rushed visits to hospital it was arranged I stop the chemo and wait for heart ablation. Had this in February and have just undergone the reversal operation. Home from that and suffering from very bad diahoria after 10 days made an appointment with the doctor and once again the doctor examined me and gave me cream to give my bottom some comfort. At all these times the doctor has always been patient, listens, asks about me and explains why the doctor thinks we should do the next step. I really felt from my first meeting with the doctor when I was experiencing a terrible time of bullying and misspending of financial funds, no manager to go to and feeling really desperate that the doctor has saved my life. The doctor arranged counselling and always checked up on me. The heart condition, the rheumatism and the cancer they detected through their determination to explore everything is a big part of why I am still here. Neighbours and other people from the surgery say I have been very strong and they agree that I have been lucky to have this person as my doctor. The only down to this is their reputation and manner makes it a little bit harder to get an appointment with them but the doctor will always phone you or get in contact with you if the doctor knows you are worried about anything. Most doctors at the surgery are very good and I would not hesitate to make an appointment with them as I know all the doctors keep everything on computer and are up to date with all health issues. I have been very pleased with the prescription service and have benefitted lately from the services of the district nurses. The surgery offers a wide range of good health services
