Attended ASU straight from my GP in a lot of pain, the ward clerk already knew to expect me and welcomed me to the ward. The staff acted quickly in making sure I was seen by the appropriate doctor, and were always polite. Spoke with two junior doctors who where more then confident in asking questions and then relaying back to the SHO.
Was quickly given a bed, although I am aware that this can take some time I was prepared to wait with patience.
All the staff on days and nights, from the cleaners to the non-clinical, support workers, nurses, sisters, doctors and ward clerk made me feel comfortable at ease and welcome to the ward.
Pain relief was quick, ward areas spotless and the cup of tea was perfect.
The ward was under pressure for beds but all staff remained controlled and made sure all patients where happy with what was happening. A credit to the NHS and the hospital the staff on this ward. I hope this message is passed on to them, and all management above and they also express their thankfulness at the work done at ward level. As these are the front line staff that keep the trust working!
Excellent care highly recommended. Well done!
"ASU excellent care couldn't ask for more."
