I was left with huge purple arm for 2 wks. as I have just gotten over my fear of needles all my confidence has gone as a junior doctor tried to take gas blood test hit a nerve and I am left with a wrist I cannot touch. I also passed out with pain  eventually a nurse came took blood no problem I have such fear of having to go back to hospital I was left traumatised

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

Dear Amberl,

This must have been quite a traumatic time for you. We take the ordinary act of breathing for granted until we struggle to catch our breath. Also, I am sorry that it was difficult when we were trying to take blood from you. I do hope that your fear subsides with time. Please don't avoid getting the care you need because of this fear, if you need blood taken again, please explain your worry. I am sure if you talk to the staff, they will help to reassure you and relax you in any way they can.

Kind regards,

Eunice
