"Very competent doctors at ST a&e & acute..."

About: Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust

I was admitted to a&e and then acute assessment after a PE diagnosis. I was so impressed by both teams of doctors who took care of me. 10 days prior to my collapse, i had visited my GP twice and then visited Guys urgent care who both failed to recognise i had a clot in my leg, but simply stated it was a pulled muscle or sciatica even though i had a cough, was limping and experiencing extreme calf pain and swelling, which resulted in PE four days after visiting guys urgent care and my GP. I found all the doctors & medical staff at St Thomas a&e and acute assessment to be highly competent, something that unfortunately you fail to see when visiting your GPs practice. They did all the necessary checks and x-rays and were able to make a correct diagnosis. For the first time in a very long time i felt there are still some really good doctors out there, very impressed!!

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased to hear that the A&E Team at St Thomas' were able to diagnose and treat you promptly. We will share this feedback with the A&E Team at St Thomas' and also at Guy's Urgent Care Centre to see what can be learned for future patients who may present with a PE at the Urgent Care Centre.
