Firstly I would like to say that all the staff are extremely helpful and do their best to ensure your stay is comfortable and that you are treated well. The therapy sessions are ran well despite large numbers of people.
The facility however is a disgrace. There is nothing to do for general patients outside therapy sessions so you are left to ruminate in evening and weekends. It has a six star price but rooms and food is what you would expect in a two star hotel.
There is no tailored therapy sessions there is a fixed timetable covering general principles and aimed at a typical patient. Mainly session are over subscribed and you are pushed into sessions that may nor meet your needs. In my case it was a week before anyone talked to me about sessions and why I was in them. Most are just too superficial to be of any use, but some are extremely thought provoking and useful but these are by far in the minority, and you have to find them by yourself.
Administration is a shambles. No one talks to you about what to expect and what you need to know you find out by mistakes you find. Heating and WiFi fail regularly, and can only be repaired 9-5 on week days so you freeze over weekends.
They basically spend all insurance money and kick you out, even if not ready to discharge, once it runs out if you can’t pay full price, which is more than double what BUPA pay. Even if you offer to pay what you can afford for a room that would be empty, or session that would run anyway, they tell you to pay full price or go back to NHS.
Medication can be changed without informing you and the changes are explained unless you ask.
All in all the ethics, fabric and facilities do a so call ‘private hospital’, who mission statement includes “Providind Quality, Inspiring Innovation, Delivering Value” is a disgrace with none of the three edicts of the mission statement being met.
