"chemotherapy clinic"

About: Charing Cross Hospital

my cousin is on treatment for breast cancer. on her three round of chemo the chemo nurse forgot to give her the injections which she has to have after 48 hours of chemo when i called the 24-hour helpline the nurse said that the injections were picked up from the pharmacy by the chemo nurse and they wouldn't find it they then asked couple time if were sure we don't have injections as they couldn't find it anywhere, on the four phone call they got a doctor to prescribe the injection which we had to pick it up from the hospital that was the first mistake they made. on her four round of chemo which she has on fridays she got a call from the chemo nurse on Wednesday two days before her chemo day to confirming that she has a chemo on thursday as well as friday which she wasn't aware of , just couple hours after she saw her consultant in the same hospital which was not acceptable upon arrive she waited couple hours before the chemo nurse told her that her chemo sessions were cancelled on both days as they forgot to do a echo on her and they couldn't find a slot for echo to be done which delayed her chemo sessions fours days, now four days might not be a big problem but the problem was that she has a child and she schedules everything around the chemo. we are very disappointed with the doctors and nurse that are dealing with my cousin care. patients come to you at they most vulnerable time, and to feel like you been neglected, stressed and not receiving the care you need is not acceptable for a hospital.

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is concerned about your posting on NHS Choices and wishes to apologise to you and your cousin for the poor experience you had in our Chemotherapy Department at Charing Cross Hospital.

We would really like to speak to your cousin in order to look into this matter further.

In the meantime I have forwarded your posting to the service managers for Cancer Services.
