Transnasal Endoscopy

(as the patient),

I was in a few weeks ago for a transnasal endoscopy at the endoscopy unit in Crosshouse. I was extremely nervous about getting it done but the staff made me feel very relaxed. The nurse that booked me in and took me through to the waiting area was just so lovely. She really took time to explain everything to me and my husband. A male nurse who normally works in theatre recovery was helping out that day and he was so friendly. My consultant Ms Sharp was fantastic. She explained everything to me before going ahead and despite it being a little uncomfortable because my nasal passage was so narrow, it was done very quickly and efficiently. The two nurses assisting Ms Sharp were wonderful and kept me calm and relaxed during the procedure. After the scope a lovely nurse took me through to a recovery room and brought my husband through to sit with me which I really was grateful for. 

I had my procedure and diagnosis all within an hour and ready to go home. 

I found this a very pleasant experience and wanted to pass on my thanks to Ms Sharp and her wonderful team.

Gosh, I am very impressed that you found this a 'very pleasant experience'. I have never had this done but it sounds as if it should be uncomfortable at least.
