About: Leeds General Infirmary

I was brought into ward L16 the day before my heart valve operation. Everything about the ward was bright welcoming and there’s a great feeling of cooperation between all levels of staff. Post operation for a short time I was on a mixed block but actually it really wasn’t a problem. All of us were dealing with different levels of post op and my and their privacy was never a problem. The other thing I want to commend is the food. Most of us have very poor appetites when recovering but the food was freshly cooked with a huge number of choices at both main meals. I have to say the highlight for me was the homemade soups, they were delicious. Please whatever you do don’t change the way food is prepared it makes such a difference to how we patients recover.
