Was admitted because I was very down as a result of my mother's death. I felt staff were impatient and overworked so didn't have time to give full attention to detail. Services badly need more funding from government and attitude of some staff and their person to person skills when dealing with patients needs seriously looked at.
Very bad place to be I felt. It was more like a prison than a hospital. Wrong place to be if your main concern is epilepsy like mine was. My seizures increased and memory was poor due to this. However some staff were unaware that my condition was affecting my memory. Very poor knowledge of the condition of epilepsy from about half of the staff. Was made to feel like I was a pest when I was ill by enough staff to make life very difficult. Also I am distressed about valuables being stolen from a locked cupboard and locked rooms. Thieving a big problem here. Also smoking in toilets in forms a major fire risk and health and safety problem. Very unpleasant for a non smoker as it is banned within hospital for a reason of heath and of safety of others within building.
These are my concerns and personally I want an answer.
