I went to A+E because my GP could not offer me an appointment for 9 days and I was very worried about a problem with my leg. I thought it may be a DVT as there is a family history of blood clot issues and I have already had one TIA.
Despite the waiting room being full, I was seen very quickly. Within about 3 hours, I had been treated, given reassurance and referred to the following day's DVT clinic.
The staff were all excellent: professional, kind and competent. I turn into a blubbering mess when I am ill so the kind approach I received was as important as the medical care. Particular thanks go to the triage nurse (Emma), the A+E nurse and final year medical student, the doctor in charge of A+E and the lovely staff at the DVT clinic, especially Sara.
"Excellent service"
