"Phone contact with Pacing reception"

About: Glenfield Hospital / Cardiology

I have recently moved area, I rang the dept to arrange movement of information to my new hospital. My enquiry was met by a very aggressive admin person who first of all denied that I had contacted the department, ( informing of the move) and secondly proceeded to below at me that they "weren't going to argue with me" with regard to my having informed them of my move. Is this how NHS staff speak to patients- I am a responsible adult, who had months ago contacted this department, I did not ring up to be lectured, talked to as if a child and then dismissed!! I am absolutely disgusted with this behaviour- so glad I no longer live in an area where a staff member is allowed to treat members of the public like this- If this staff member sees this review, please inform them that I live with and take my heart condition seriously, they needs training in dealing with members of the public.

Dear reviewer, thank you for taking the time to leave a review however we are extremely disappointed to read your comments.

In this first instance we would like to apologise, the manner in which you were dealt with is extremely disappointing and not what we would expect of our staff.

If you are able to advise any specifics ie date and time, we would be most grateful to be advised, please email: communications@uhl-tr.nhs.uk and we will forward details to the Management team for Cardiology.

We pride ourselves on the way in which we deal with patients and are extremely sorry that this was your experience, please be assured it is not the norm.

Best wishes, Communications Team, Leicester's Hospitals.
