My 92-year-old mother was admitted to LCH following her arrival at A and E with what appeared to be a life-threatening condition. She was seen very promptly and all of the staff we encountered were friendly, efficient and calm. Her blood test results came through very quickly and within two hours of arrival she was on a ward. The doctors explained her condition and the necessary treatment clearly and I was completely confident that she would receive excellent care ( bearing in mind that earlier in the evening I thought she was about to die...). She was transferred to a specialist ward ( gastroenterology) that evening. Her consultant explained the relevant investigatory procedure to us and it was carried out a couple of hours later. They then took the time to go through her results with my husband and I, helping to make sense of the gastroscopy and the treatment she needed. She is now sitting up in bed, delighted still to be with us, and enjoying being well looked after. I cannot recommend the staff enough!
"Fabulous treatment!"
