In October my GP sent me to Hairmyres because of chest pains. I was admitted and had a stent the next day and discharged the day after that. During my stay I was impressed by the quality of all of the staff. The cleaners who worked so hard, the porters who took the time to put people at ease, the nurses who were kind and efficient to the Doctors who ensured I knew what was happening at all times.
I am extremely grateful for the treatment I received and now realise the importance of having the Cath Lab in my local hospital. Before my treatment I wasn't aware that some hospitals don't have their own lab.
I am now attending the Cardiac Rehab sessions which are a constant source of support and education. It makes such a difference to be able to speak to experts when you need advice.
