"They forgot I need assistance"

About: Royal Stoke University Hospital / Ear, Nose and Throat

(as the patient),

After transferring from county hospital with stomach pains, I settled into ward 102. Lots of tests, made friends .

The problem I had was no one from the hospital alerted my social worker or my OT. That only came to light when my partner contacted my social worker to tell her, apparently the hospital social should have told my social worker that I was in hospital and they then should have coordinated before my discharge the following week.

I only had physio once when in ward 102 and that was for calf cramp. After that I didn't get any physio. I was offered to be hoisted out of bed but didn't feel up to it.

The physio wanted my manual wheelchair to be brought in but as I'd been moved to a side room there was no room to move with it in there (side room was small) but my manual chair is the type where I have to be pushed and I can't sit in it as it makes me sore.

The staff were mostly nice, although they forgot I need assistance with drinks and eating so my food and drink were either cold or one time I didn't get at all till I buzzed staff.

Then they forgot to order patient transport so eventually got home at 10pm instead of 2pm only to fall and end up back in A&E.

I went in able to weight bear enough to transfer from chair to wheelchair and now can't do that. I'm hoisted.

The physio is still trying to be sorted out.
