"Nurses here have no respect!"

About: Nems Platform One Practice

My mum is currently staying with me, i had concerns after we found a very large lump with where she had her appendix out 18 months ago. I rang the doctors to see if we could temporarily set her up as a patient as she is not from round here. The receptionist was actually very helpful, however after my mum's visit she walked out of there very distressed after the way a nurse made her feel. The nurse seemed to be having a bad day and really didn't want to help my mum, they repeatably said " i have no idea, i am not a doctor"

That is fair enough, however you are in the right place to advise what my mum needed to do next and we didn't ask to be booked in with the nurse. Do these people not communicate? because i already explained the symptoms to the receptionist over the phone who advised they needed to know this information so they could book us in with the correct person - well they clearly didn't book us in with the correct person, just some stroppy healthcare nurse. I wish i could name and shame because i am absolutely disgusted in the way she has been treated, my mum had a shopping bag with cotton wool in and the nurse responded "well you cant be that bothered about the lump as it looks like you have had a days shopping" Disgusting! These nurses should not be able to get away with how they treat or speak to patients, everyone has bad days at work. I work with customers on a day to day basis, and NEMS is the perfect example of poor customer service. I am not the type of person to write reviews, but i am horrified with this experience. People that work at NEMS obviously do not understand the urgency of finding lumps in your body.

Thank you for taking the time to give your feedback.

I have discussed the issues raised with you and your Mum and would once again like to apologise for the disappointing experience and for any unintentional distress this has caused.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.
