"Catheter ablation"

About: Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital NHS Trust HQ / Cardiology

I was referred by the cardiologist in my local hospital for ablation and attended for assessment in October. I was admitted to Cherry Ward on 3rd November for a catheter ablation and discharged on 4th November following successful surgery.

I am truly thankful to all staff I have come into contact with for the courtesy, consideration and professionalism they have shown to both myself and my family throughout the time.

I would particularly like to commend theatre staff who took the time and patience to introduce themselves and explain their role and procedures so calmly and carefully. The respectful, friendly manner shown to me helped to allay any fears I had about the procedure and helped me to relax. I felt I was in safe hands throughout.

On return to Cherry Ward I was totally involved in discussions and decisions about my care and advised about processes in place. Any worries or concerns I had were addressed effectively and nothing was a trouble. Alll staff were very friendly and took time to consider the needs of both myself and my family which helped us all to relax.

The ward was clean and comfortable and facilities within the room were exceptional.

I am able to contact the ward within the next seven days if I have any questions or concerns and there is the potential for support beyond that time.

After suffering seven months of debilitating symptoms I am amazed at how well I feel less than 48 hour after the ablation. Symptoms have improved tremendously.

I have already benefited from the care and professionalism of the dedicated staff and look forward to receiving their continued support which I am sure will help me to return to a much improved level of health. Many thanks!
