I had an appointment this week in the ENT department at Crosshouse Hospital.
The lady that came to get me was so smiley and lovely and nice. They were so lovely and put me at ease. I have Menieres disease which means I have really narrow ear canals so I often need my ears syringing. I used to need to have it done quite often and used to have it in the doctors surgery but it was problematic because the water would stay behind and cause problems, so because of this I now have it done in hospital because they have a machine that can suck the water out during the process.
I think the nurse that did it was called nurse Led, and she had a lady helping her too. They were both very nice and once it was done the other lady walked me to the lift and pressed the button for me in the lift. This was really helpful because my condition means that I have very poor balance and I have trouble looking up and down because it can put me into a spin. I thought it was very kind of her to take me to the lift.
They already knew everything they needed to know in my appointment because they had their notes in front of them and she said she'd like to see me again in 3 months.
I had to go to ward 4A for my appointment but it wasn't a ward it was like a wee room that I went in. I just wanted to say the the staff were so kind and lovely.
"Kind and helpful staff at my ENT appointment"
