"gallbladder removal"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / General surgery

I attended general surgery for gallbladder removal on Monday as a day case. I can honestly say that my experience throughout the whole day was nothing short of excellent. From my check in, Nursing care, Specialist attention through to leaving I was treated with respect and put at ease. All the staff I encountered were a credit to the hospital and although they were obviously very busy throughout the day never once showed any lack of dedication or attention to my needs. I felt very lucky to be looked after with such care by an obviously dedicated team. I left with nothing but admiration for such a well ran department and can only say that when you are understandably feeling a little uncertain and nervous these people know how to put reassure you. Although no operation is an enjoyable experience, I can only say that my day was certainly as good as it could possible have been. I would reassure anyone who is going to attend Treliske general surgery department to attend with some reassurance of good treatment from very caring people. Thank you to all the staff I encountered that day, you were all fantastic.

It is fantastic to hear you had such a positive experience whilst attending for gallbladder removal and that you were reassured throughout. As you mentioned it is an extremely busy department but the dedicated staff are always striving to ensure that patient care remains top priority and it is lovely to hear that this is being recognised by our patients.
