"Good GP practice"

About: Chigwell Medical Centre

Have been registered here for many years and the surgery has been goo considering it's NHS:

Appointments: easy to get appointments over the phone. Longest I have had to wait on the line was 3 mins on a bad day. Emergency appointments are usually available on the day and routine can be obtained for within a week if you are not bothered with what time. Another good thing is that they offer weekend appointments at their Loughton Hub branch.

GP: very good and experienced. Has really looked after my parents. The doctor really is concerned about our health when we visit, like when a blood result is slightly abnormal. However sometimes I can feel rushed by them. The doctor also tends to precribe without discussing other options. One time my cholesterol was high and before I even sat down, the doctor was ready to start me on a life long drug. I had to stop them and request that we explore lifestyle changes before considering drugs that have major side effects. I'm only in my twenties. I'm not one of those people who demand a precription before I leave the GP's room.

Nurses are friendly and good at what they do.

Receptionist are helpful.

Services: they have a dietician that visits monthly. They also are geographically attached to a 24 hr pharmacy which is very helpful.

I will recommend this surgey to those in the area and will continue to stay with surgery.
