A quick A & E admission and 2 days later a slower readmission which were both good.
I saw little point in the move to Heartlands after 24 hours; they seemed to be unaware of why I had been sent, and their discharge of me the following day was followed by another A and E admission to Good Hope from home.
Time in AMU was good but an eventual move to spend some time in Ward 7 was not good, but perhaps unavoidable.
Here I saw caring nurses, dealing with dementia cases which should be a social responsibility - not hospital.
Wonderful dedication and patience.
On the penultimate evening I was moved at 11.15 p.m. but taken to a place (discharge office and then Day Care Unit) which offered a more peaceful environment for the night, for which I was grateful, though I suspect that the hospital was simply trying to cope with an excessive need for bed spaces.
The follow-up appointments in Ambulatory Care were well organised and efficient.
I was impressed with the overall atmosphere of the hospital, as far as I experienced it.
I understand that I cannot compliment individual people, which is a pity, as the Staff nurse in Ward 7 on the penultimate evening was particularly good; they were 'unflappable' and tried hard to keep things running smoothly.
Thankyou, Good Hope.
"A caring and efficient reception and longer..."
