"Courtney...a patient in for,polyoctomy and..."

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital / Gynaecology

I came into hospital today ..very nervous of what lay ahead, however I needn,t of worried as from start to finish my day patient hospital experience was without fault, exemplary care from all members of staff I came into contact with, although I was very nervous, mainly about my elective spinal block,I was soon made to feel at ease by my anaethnatist, who calmly took me through every aspect of what would take place, one in theatre my nurses kept me calm, warm and chatted to me throughout the operation for which I was fully awake for .I had consented to a student nurse to examine me which they did expertly thanking me for allowing them to do so, the surgeon kept me in the loop with what was going on throughout, with their excellent team doing everything to make sure

I was the main focus and stayed calm..warm and comfortable as they went about the operation.afterwards and totally pain free I was carefully taken to recovery by my nurse and put in the care of another nurse.

Who again..made sure I was comfortable,warm..and pain free as my legs were numb and this was a worry to me they made sure they checked my legs with ice..so I would realise they were coming back to life.

As each time they placed the ice on different parts of my legs..I would feel the cold ice on parts previously I had not...I found this very reassuring, once they were happy with my recovery I again was transferred to my pod, with another nurse. I was then looked after by a wonderful nurse who carried out further care, watching my vital statisics, and once more ensuring I was feeling safe comfortable And warm..they answered any questions I asked prompting me to ask anything at all, they brought me a cup of tea and biscuits which was much appreciated and when my leg movement came back I was helped to stand and once again assessed before I was allowed to stand and try walking alone.I want to thank every nurse involved in my care today..we really are so very lucky to have an n.h.s service with outstanding staff who are a credit to the Q.E...and the roles they all perform..I wouldnt hesitate in recomending this hospital to anyone contemplating surgeries...they really are outstanding..thankyou once more for all you care and genuine concern for me today..your fantastic.
