"Shocking rudeness of paramedics"

About: Weston General Hospital

My face swollen double the size and i was rushed to hospital. The paramedics that took me were amazing, but when i arrived my paramedics that that took me started speaking to another paramedic, at this stage my throat was swelling and i was finding it very hard to swollen and short of breath, i was so worried it was going to get tighter that i used my phone to reflect my face and throat on it, when i did this the other paramedic that was speaking to mine said in an aggressive mocking insulting way and i qoute "youre in ae and youre taking selfies!" then they walked off with another person laughing and saying "lets take a selfie" mocking me again! I suffer anxiety and this made me want to leave straight away and hide, but the doctor straight away n took an xray and injected me with antibiotics. I would like to take this matter further or ill seek further advice from citizen advice. Will say my name privately

Hi there,

Many thanks for taking the time and trouble to give your feedback on your experiences, and we're very sorry to hear that you did not have a good experience. We're afraid we're unable to investigate further, as the paramedics and ambulance staff aren't employed by Weston Area Health NHS Trust, but a separate Trust - South West Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust. If you would like them to look into this matter further, please can you contact them direct? Their website is here https://www.swast.nhs.uk/About%20Us/ and the phone number for Patient Experience is 01392 261585
