"Not informed of outcome"

About: Harefield Hospital / Cardiology

My husband has been a harefield patient for 5 years. We had nothing but praise throughout.

On 27th sept 2017 m'y hisband was admitted for angiogram/ possible angioplasty. as was expected as a solution to his symptoms.

This procedure was an unpleasant one as he said he could feel everything even after a local anaesthetic. Results determined for no angioplasty.

After being home almost 1 month, we have heard nothing. My husband is still symptomatic with no quality of life and unable to work. During this time I have telephoned and left messages constantly with no reply as to the way forward.

Previous experiences have been excellent but on this occasion I have to say, it is wrong to leave a patient with no information as to the way forward when he is still symptomatic.

We feel very disappointed at the outcome so far with lack of information, and disheartened that we felt the need to express how we feel.

Hi,

Thank you for letting us know about your husband’s recent experience at Harefield Hospital. Although it’s good to hear that you have been pleased with the service you both have received over the past five years, we’re obviously concerned that you don’t feel you have been given enough information following your husband’s procedure in September.

If you have not already done so, please do contact our patient advice and liaison service (PALS) on 020 7349 7715 or by email at pals@rbht.nhs.uk who will be keen to help address your concerns.
