"Couldn’t fault them"

About: Leeds General Infirmary / Trauma and orthopaedics

I visited the virtual fracture clinic the day after visiting a local walk in centre as I had broken my foot 10 days earlier whilst on holiday. The consultant was unsure whether I would need surgery and arranged for a CT scan so they could fully assess whether this was required. This wasn’t booked in until after the clinic closed but two consultants and two nurses all waited until the scan was back and they could make the decision to operate which made me feel like they’d gone above what they needed to do.

Luckily I didn’t need surgery but I did visit on three further occasions for follow ups and I always felt like the service was excellent. On one occasion due to staff absense there was a bit of a long wait but the nurses in the clinic kept apologising and trying to find out information for those who were waiting.

The hospital itself is very clean. My only quibble is when you first visit the car parking situation is a bit confusing as it’s not very well sign posted. We ended up parking on the higher level car park and I had to be wheeled down the main road to be able to access the wing which I need to be at. Once we had visited though it was easy to understand where we needed to go.
