"Came out the radbourne worst than I went in."

About: Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

I was admitted to radbourne on a voluntary basis. I had a complete mental breakdown. I was very suicidal. I was taken to the rasbourne after an overdose. I was then given diazepam and told to go home as there was no beds available. I was then admitted 2 days later after being watched constantly by my parents. Once admitted I experienced terrible treatment from the ward manager. I had ward round in which I wasn't even told about. They deal with distressed patients through medication not actual care from the nurses. I was then kicked out the radbourne unit due to having problems with anger, instead of the staff supporting me and helping me with my anger I was sent away threatened by the police and told if I wanted to kill myself it would be my own choice. I was told I was badly behaved and aggressive and that this wasn't down to my mental health even after being diagnosed with mental health disorders. This service is awful. I was sent away with no follow up appointment and I was then taken back to a&e many times after and once again sent away from a&e. I came out the radbourne unit just as bad as when I went in. The staffs attitude towards me as a person was terrible. There was only a couple of staff on this ward that actually cared about the patience in their care.
