"Ambulance response to emergency: we are all in safe hands"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Accident & Emergency Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as the patient),

In March this year I had an Addison’s Crisis which meant I had to have a injection of Hydrocortisone.  The Ambulance response was very timely.  The Paramedics heard me and were able to give me the life saving injection before taking me to RAH Paisley.

The Paramedics were very professional and very reassuring.  They took me to the hospital and I was admitted to A & E initially.  They fully explained to staff my condition and the actions they had taken.   After admittance I was diagnosed with a chest infection and pneumonia in both my lungs. I am still recovering with lots of tests to get to the bottom of my condition.

I can only reiterate the excellent care and attention I received from the Paramedics. If they are an example of the Scottish Ambulance Service then we are all in safe hands.

I hope I thanked them although I know my family did at the time.

Hi,

Many thanks for taking the time to get in touch and highlight the care you experienced during your illness.

It is great to read about the part the Scottish Ambulance Service had to play in caring for you during what must have been a worrying time.

Our ambulance crews work extremely hard, undertaking an incredibly difficult job, however at the same time ensuring that patients like yourself are at the centre of care.

I hope your recovery is going well and wish you all the best for the future.

If you had time to provide some more details such as the date and address your illness occurred, we could probably track down the crew to pass on your thanks and your note above. My details are mark.hannan3@nhs.net. I am sure your family did so at the time as you say.

Thank you again for taking the time to feedback and for expressing your gratitude.

Take care,

Mark
