Attended RHC for an MRI for my son and found it incredibly difficult to locate the department we were supposed to be attending. At one point we found a small paper hand written sign stuck to a wall with an arrow but then no further directions.
I cannot understand how a new facility such as this would not have adequate signage to direct patients. It may seem like a small issue but my wife and I were already worked up that our son was going to struggle staying still for the scan and this only compounded the issue. By the time we eventually found the radiology dept, via an accidental trip to the rear of the resus room, we were both incredibly frustrated.
I initially assumed this was a teething issue with the new building, however having recently returned again to the MRI dept this issue has still not been addressed.
I feel as though on occasion the hospital and its staff forget that it is the small things throughout the patient journey that make all the difference.
