"My dad"

About: Royal Bolton Hospital

My dad suffered a second stroke 3 months after the first. With the second stroke he was in high dependency at Salford royal. He has been transferred to H3 acute stroke ward at Bolton hospital. We have found that the nurses, carers and therapists are very good and professional.

My dad has been treated with a lot of kindness and respect, even though he is not himself and behaving in a difficult manner. The one important factor to be aware of is I asked to speak to a doctor for an update on everything going on, who was very vague and kept turning the questions back. It felt like they did not know the patient at all. On the other hand after being dissatisfied with that meeting I spoke to the sister and they were fantastic. It was clear that all the carers/therapists know their patients well and maintain good notes.

Hello Tara, We're sorry that you found the doctor rather vague, but very pleased to hear that the other staff were helpful. Thank you for letting us know of your experience. We wish your father well in his recovery.
