"Lack of professionalism"

About: Royal Preston Hospital

Waiting for 8h. 5hseen by 2 doctors and 3h for a blood test result. Was the worse experience I ever had. I am working as a nurse on A&E departament but I never had this experience in my life. The nurse who had a simple job only to do a venopuncture and take one little bottle of blood than from this procedure. When they started the venopuncture procedure didn’t disinfect the area. Once they finished the procedure instead of gauze they put an alcohol wipe ( stings like hell). If I asked them to put something else because is stinging they put a piece of paper sheet where my shoes were there only few moments ago for abdominal examination. No empathy and no professionalism at all. Very disappointed. What CQC will do regarding this lack of professionalism? What infection prevention will do? This is unacceptable for this kind of work. We are working with people not with metal or plastic piece.

Dana we are are very concerned to read this and you will know yourself this is not the level of service the Trust would want for our patients.

Can you consider contacting the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01772 522972 so they can take these concerns forward for you with the Urgent Care Centre?

PALS can be contacted Monday to Friday from 9am - 4pm but there is an answer service for messages outside those hours.
