My elderly mother who was a polio victim and had a hip replacement convalesced at Shire Hill in 1996. She had her own little room and was looked after really well.
My Dad later came to Shire Hill on the falls programme which was a real help for him. He also came here after he fell down the stairs and was in Tameside then here to convalesc.
The staff were wonderful and it was so nice to be able to visit every day and not have to travel all the way to Tameside in the awful traffic.
It is in a beautiful spot and so uplifting for patients to recover here.
