"Worst experience for trauma"

About: University College Hospital / Accident and emergency

Came into this hospital with a major trauma. It all started off with the paramedics. I'm 21 and had a fall (pretty high) and they suggested to take me to UCLH after I told them it wasn't a trauma hospital. The paramedics were horrible I was in a very awkward position when I fell and so they have to emobolise me. Once they did they had to carry me down the stairs and I understand it's hard. But I'm only 70kg and 5ft 11" long story short, on the whole journey down the two paramedics were complaining as to how "heavy" i was to carry. Which I find quite rude. They were not attentive nor caring. I had a head injury too and so I felt very sick and I hurt my neck very badly. While I was on the floor one of the paramedics asked me if I wanted to get up and walk. Seriously?? I couldn't move at all. And that would be so risky considering I had a serious bruising around the neck. Anyway, we get to the hospital and we're in the paramedics queue ready to handover, when the paramedic started to complain about how heavy I was again! To a doctor I didn't know. Once the hand over was done they introduced me to a lovely doctor who was super nice, caring, attentive and also considerate. The pain was excruciating and all they gave me was paracetamol. It was only the doctor who then suggested something better. I'm waiting for a while, have a CT scan to then find out the doctor had ended their shift. Another doctor came and was suppose to give me my results for the CT which I urgently needed because I have spinal issues anyway. I waited more than 4 hours and still no results and I was so angry because I was lying in resuscitation so uncomfortable with the metal scoop still underneath me that should've been removed by the paramedics. I was so fed up and I asked if I could leave with my pain level still being about 8.5/10. The doctor said I could leave if I had my pain under control I said it isn't under control but I'm fed up of waiting so long. I had a catheter in and two cannulas that I had removed myself. Because it took them ages to even get someone to remove that. I asked for a dischard aummary that's when I over heard the conversation bwteeen the doc and nurse. They said exactly "I haven't got the time and nor can she be asking for a discharge summary when I've got unconscious patients lying here) and when I asked one of the other nurses what happened they said that the patient was intoxicated from the night before. Without hesitation I stood up removed my cannulas myself and limped out in agony. I felt like a burden. Not once did anyone run after me to enquire about the self discharge forms that I had to sign. I didn't sign anything and left in fumes. The NHS has crumbled so much. From now on I'm paying privately. I don't want to be up against drunk people, who are obviously more important than someone that might have possible cause equina. And need I say i still don't have my results
