"The surgery care and attention I received in Ward 4"

About: University Hospital Monklands / General Surgery (Wards 4 & 7)

(as the patient),

I was admitted to hospital in mid September and underwent a difficult operation for a badly infected gall bladder and according to doc was very ill. I would like to emphasise that from the ambulance to A&E  to ward4 then theatre and back to ward 4 post op the care and attention I received was first class. I cannot express my thanks enough to all the staff in ward 4 on all shifts as they made my time there pre and post op a lot easier with there thoughtfulness, banter, football and holiday chat and there efficiency gave me comfort and strength.

On behalf of my family,  I would like to thank them so much and will be forever grateful to Mr Nassar and everyone concerned at Monkland General.

Dear Robk

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about the first class care and attention you received during your stay in Ward 4 whilst having gall bladder surgery.

I am aware how difficult and worrying a time this must have been for you and am glad that staff were able to make this a positive experience for you.

Our aim is to provide patients with person-centred care to suit their individual needs and having a friendly face and someone to chat to during your stay is as much a part of the healing process as good clinical care.

With best wishes for your ongoing recovery

Lynn McTavish
