From my experiance, I found the unit poorly managed. A patient required a larger pouch for a prolapse. Instead was admitted to admission unit. Prepared as if for theatre. Spent all night and most of the day there to be advised that as they could not get hold of the facility to deal with the situation it was to be left on hold a letter would be sent.
As this was a needed surgical procedure the larger pouches were found and ordered which was the expectation and purpose of the visit. The person now deals with a situation I am not with.
Also brownie points earned by finding a situation manageable although difficult. this person has been left with the daily task of dealing with this large task to me a patient should decide as to whether the task is for them
