"Neurology waiting times are unacceptable"

About: Royal Preston Hospital / Neurology

The waiting times to get a Neurology appointment are not acceptable. 9-10months wait from GP refferal is too long. I have to say the staff were neither bad nor good, I feel asthough I've been forgotten about, I've had to chase up about appointments, scans and now results. I've tried to communicate with Pals liason but they seem to be uninterested, I don't think there's much they could do anyway. The service needs more consultants and more clinics basically. The secretaries do a great job and are really helpful.

We are very disappointed to read this.

It is true that the waiting time for Neurology appointments is currently very long; an issue which is escalated to the highest level in the Trust and communicated regularly to our partner agencies such as the Clinical Commissioning Groups and local GP practices.

Our PALS team have been asked to explain this situation to patients who contact them, but we are very sorry that you felt they were uninterested in your concern, as this is certainly not experience we aspire to.

We will share this feedback with PALS.
