"Shambolic"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus

Received a letter for my daughter to go in for an xray under general anaesthetic, be there for 7.a.m it said, we arrived at 6.45, was greeted at ambulatory by some lovely staff my daughter's name was on the board for 8 a.m, by 10 am we were still waiting by which time my daughter was in severe pain, we're told half 12 allowed to go off ward and drink till 11.30, arrived back on ward where we stayed until around 3.15 before going down to theatre where we were kept waiting again. eventually taken through and anesthetized when finished taken back to the ward to be told that no-one was planning on coming to see us to let us know what had happened, alright for us to be kept waiting 8 hours but the surgeon's couldn't spare 10 mins!! kicked up a fuss and eventually one came. apart from the nurse and the play specialist and student nurse. the whole planning of today was dreadful. no wonder the nhs is in crisis.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. I am really sorry to hear of the long waiting times you and your daughter had to experience especially when in severe pain. If you would me to investigate this further I would welcome you to make contact with me on: 0115 924 9924 ext: 66147.

Best wishes,

Rebecca Thurlow, Ward Manager, Ambulatory Care Unit
