Thank you for taking the time to post on Care Opinion about your recent keyhole surgery on your shoulder. It's great to hear that nurses, anaesthetists and surgeon described as all amazing before during and after the operation. It sounds like they got all aspects of your care just right since you couldn't fault them at all. This is always very reassuring to hear and great to know about any service.

Often partners/family/friends are allowed to sit with patients until they are taken to theatre, especially if patients are anxious and would benefit from having a loved one present to help keep them calm. Unfortunately it is not always possible for everyone to stay due to patient confidentiality and the high volume of patients attending the Day Surgery Unit but it is worth asking and it may be that you would be able to sit with your relative in another area. Also free Wifi is available throughout the Unit if you wanted to bring an electronic device to pass the time or face time a loved one.
