"I wish the team from Glasgow had looked after me then"

About: West Scotland Breast Screening Centre

(as the patient),

I attended the breast screening unit at Nelson Mandela place in Glasgow. I was obviously anxious. Both my husband and I were greeted well by the receptionist and Nurse.

Very reassuring. I was then screened by Lorna (hello my name is..), radiographer. She explained procedures in detail and was also kind. Post scans the doctor then explained the situation in detail. This included breaking the "good news". I know that if the news was not so good it would have been unlikely that I would have been in the frame of mind to post. I have had a cancer diagnosis before (almost 30 years ago) I wish the team from Glasgow had looked after me then. Thank you.

Dear Twaddle

Thanks for sharing your story on Care Opinion.

The staff realise that some women feel anxious about attending the Breast Screening Service and do their best to put them at ease. I am glad that the staff were kind, reassuring and explained the procedure and scans in detail.

I will be delighted to share your story with the staff at Nelson Mandela Square.

Best wishes

Nicole
