"Amazing hospital, with amazing care"

About: St Mary's Hospital / Gynaecology

I started off in April with appointments & scans at Tameside hospital & everyone there was amazing & so caring, I then went to St Mary's as the Dr put themself forward to remove my very large ovarian mass & perform a full hysterectomy.

From the moment I checked in for my pre op - then surgery I was treated with respect & dignity. I cannot thank the Macmillan nurse enough, who is without doubt the most caring & endearing person I have ever met. They held my hand, cuddled me & showed so much compassion from start to finish.

The nurse even called me at home as soon as the results were through to say my Tumor was benign & was genuinely pleased for me.

Yesterday was my final appointment at the hospital & although I never got to see the Dr personally I would like to say a huge thank you to them & their team.

Keep up the good work St Mary's & thank you once again

Kind Regards

Carole Quinn

Thank you for your positive comments posted on the NHS Choices website regarding your care within the Gynaecology Services at Saint Mary’s Hospital. It was very kind of you to take the time to write and compliment the staff as it is good to receive positive feedback which reflects the hard work and dedication of our staff. The Trust has introduced a Behavioural framework within which all members of the nursing and medical teams practice so it was reassuring to read that staff communicated in a manner that enabled you to approach this personal experience with confidence and that you felt you had been fully involved in all discussions throughout. I can assure you that we have passed on your feedback to Dr Gail Busby Clinical Director for Gynaecology, Mrs Pam Kilcoyne, Lead Nurse for Gynaecology, Mrs Sarah Devaney, Matron for Women’s Outpatients, Mrs Angela Williams, Matron for Theatres, Mrs Sonia Hadley, Ward manager and the staff involved.
