"Excellent Staff"

About: Wansbeck Hospital / Gynaecology

I was admitted today as a day patient to Ward 15 for a gynae procedure under general anaesthetic. I was very impressed with the staff and the system they operate, caring for 5 (potentially anxious) patients and their relatives. The staff were compassionate, caring and very considerate of my needs and it is likely I will have to return for more investigations, which I will now do with the confidence of being looked after well. Ward 15 is a 6 bed ward which is divided by curtains which unfortunately offer little privacy when in discussion with staff. I understand this might be unavoidable, but I found it uncomfortable as the patient next to me had 3 people accompanying her potentially hearing my personal symptoms and increasing the sound levels at a time I would have liked some peace and quiet. Perhaps instead this could be restricted to 1 friend or relative?

However, the staff were great and the post op tea and toast is Michelin standard! Well done and thank you!

Dear Ms,

Thank you ever so much for taking the time to tell us about your experience. I am pleased that our team on ward 15 were able to reassure you and your relatives. We understand that it can be a worrying time having a gynae procedure under general anaesthetic.

I appreciate you bringing your concerns regarding the number of visitors to a bed to my attention. I will pass your comments over to the ward manager to see what we can do to minimise any privacy issues.

I’m pleased you enjoyed the tea and toast, hope you’re doing well.

All the best,

Jan
