Can never get in with a doctor and always seem to be palmed off with the nurse! Went with a clearly visible abscess next to my mouth only to be told it was a coldsaw! When I said I suffered with abscesses frequently so I know what is it is I got rudely told well I'm not giving you antibiotics for that! It wasn't checked! Nothing! I asked the nurse if I could see a doctor for a second opinion to which I got another rude reply along the lines of no because it's a coldsaw and I know it's a coldsaw!

Ended up having to go to the walk in centre. Luckily they are a lot better and got seen by GP just 50 minutes after calling 111 oh and guess what. It is an abscess!

We do actively promote Care Navigation, with patients being directed to Pharmacist, Physiotherapist and Nurses where appropriate, so that GP appointments are saved for those patients that need to be seen by a GP.

We generally have excellent feedback re these other members of the practice team, but I am sorry to hear that experience was very unsatisfactory.

I have forwarded your comment to the Nursing team who will review the incident for any learning points and to see how we could improve in future
